It’s Never too Early to Celebrate Your Team!

With the holiday season right around the corner, many companies are brainstorming ways to bring their teams together for an office holiday party after events had been sidelined due to COVID. With restrictions lifted regarding occupancy limits in venues and offices, companies are bringing their employees back to the workplace . . . and bringing back the corporate holiday party.

What better way to celebrate your team—and say good-bye to 2022—than with a festive office party? We can’t think of any!

Benefits of an office holiday party

A corporate party not only provides opportunities to recognize your employees’ hard work and perseverance through the pandemic and beyond; it also gets everyone back together in a relaxed atmosphere, including your remote workers who don’t get to gather ‘round the water cooler or meet up in the break room at your office. After so much time apart—with some companies having to forego the annual holiday party last year—everyone is eager to socialize and catch up in person, and holiday parties are always a happy time of celebration and camaraderie.

It also provides opportunities to get better acquainted for team members who don’t typically collaborate with other departments. If you’ve brought on new hires this year who haven’t yet met everyone, the party is a great platform for that. The chance to cultivate and build new relationships among your employees creates a more positive work culture overall, as noted in this article.

Start planning your holiday party now

Even though we’re nearing the end of the year, there’s still never been a better time than now to plan your holiday parties. Corporate caterers, venues, and event planners in New Jersey and New York City are ramping up now for the holiday season—and for good reason. With all the pent-up demand for parties and live corporate events, and postponed weddings being rescheduled, dates are being chosen and venues booked for those companies that are planning their event off site.

For those off-site events, if you have flexibility in terms of day of the week, you are likely to do better in terms of availability and pricing for the room on a Monday or Tuesday night rather than later in the week.

By the way, there’s no reason to wait ‘til December for your festivities. The fall season provides some fun opportunities like Halloween (complete with a costume contest) and Thanksgiving, with a corporate take on a Friendsgiving feast. After all, given the past few years that we’ve all been through, there is a lot to be thankful for when it comes to recognizing your team.

With all the unusual circumstances brought by the pandemic, you may also want to rethink your company party so it’s not business as usual. Maybe it’s a sumptuous buffet lunch that caps a half day at the office; an elaborate cocktail party at the end of the workday, with stations and passed hors d’oeuvres; or an informal or themed catered luncheon at an entertainment venue that marries corporate outing with holiday party.
