Office Coffee in NJ and NYCOne of our premier local coffee roasting partners, and Brooklyn’s own has a brand new coffee coming at you this week, Espíritu de San Luis, from Costa Rica. And Corporate Essentials is ready to deliver this locally roasted coffee to your office in Manhattan, NYC, NJ and Brooklyn.

About Cafe Grumpy’s Espíritu de San Luis (from Cafe Grumpy):

Alexander Delgado and his family, who run this farm and mill, represent another important producer partner for Café Grumpy. We are lucky to be able to offer their amazing coffee each year.

This season we are starting it out on the single origin menu, but expect to see it as a component of Heartbreaker later in the season.

Our coffee buyer Cheryl and roaster Liam visited Costa Rica this year and reported exciting things happening at San Luis. All of the coffee from this farm is dried on raised beds rather than patios, which allows more even and careful drying.

The Delgado family is also experimenting with what they call “stress-less” coffee, coffee dried in the shade over a longer period of time, and showing promising early results. They are growing a range of new varietals in their varietal garden, including Gesha, so we are looking forward to seeing how that cups in a few years when it is ready.

This year look for sparkly grape notes in the cup, as well as kiwi and other tropical fruit, with a milk chocolate finish. Like many other Costa Rican coffees the body is lighter, which lets the complex acidity shine through. This is an exquisite and delicate coffee — sip it slowly and enjoy it.

Espíritu de San Luis will be available only for a limited time. As with all of our locally roasted coffees at Corporate Essentials, they are roasted to order in small batches; so please allow at least three days from the time you place your order for delivery.
