NYC and NJ Office Refreshment Leader, Corporate Essentials to Offer TopBrewer Coffee System to NYC Metro Area Offices

Denmark-based Scanomat chooses Corporate Essentials as New York City Metro Area partner to bring its TopBrewer system to offices.

PARSIPPANY, N.J. (April 26, 2016) — New York City and New Jersey office refreshment leader, Corporate Essentials has announced a strategic partnership with Denmark-based coffee equipment manufacturer Scanomat to offer their app-controlled TopBrewer system, which garnered critical acclaim in the U.S. through articles on sites such as Buzzfeed and Mashable over the past few years, to offices in the New York City metro area.

“We’re extremely excited to be able to offer TopBrewer in our (New York City metro area) market,” said Joe Simonovich, Senior Vice President of Operations at Corporate Essentials. “What Scanomat is doing with TopBrewer is unbelievable, and being able to be a part of it is truly humbling.”

The Scanomat TopBrewer coffee system is an under-the-counter unit that allows the system to have a completely minimalistic look and feel. When a user approaches the system, all they see is the swan-neck faucet, a mounted iPad and a drain.

“TopBrewer is simply beautiful, and I know it sounds strange to say that about coffee equipment,” said Simonovich. “It’s minimalist footprint will always be the first thing that grabs one’s attention, but the function and performance of the equipment itself is what puts TopBrewer at the top when it comes to whole bean-to-cup coffee brewing.”

The TopBrewer system utilizes two separate grinders to be able to produce both café drinks such as cappuccinos, lattes and macchiatos; and also make the type of traditionally brewed coffee American’s know and love.

“The fact that TopBrewer has the ability to make drinks with real espresso, as well as brew coffee in a more traditional, American way is a game changer,” said Simonovich. “People love bean-to-cup brewers, but one consistent complaint is that they either cannot make a shot of espresso, or they make a traditional coffee by simply adding water to a shot of espresso – TopBrewer changes that completely.”

In addition to using real espresso in its café drinks, TopBrewer also uses real milk, frothed using the world’s smallest milk frother at the tip of the swan-neck faucet.

TopBrewer is controlled using the free iOS and Android TopBrewer app, which allows users to select and customize their favorite drinks using either an iPad mounted near the TopBrewer or their own device.

“It’s no secret that people use their own devices in the office. By downloading and installing the TopBrewer app, it makes the (brewing) experience even more personal,” said Simonovich. “If you have a favorite drink saved on the app, and an Apple Watch, TopBrewer will even nudge you when you’re near the machine to remind you it’s time for a caffeine fix.”

Unlike most U.S. office coffee equipment, the TopBrewer is only available for sale, but the purchase of the system also comes along with a service contract from the Corporate Essentials service team to ensure the system continually runs properly.

“We understand that a machine like TopBrewer is a major investment for any company,” said Simonovich. “That’s why we took our top service technicians to Denmark to train with the Scanomat team even before we had the system in stock.”

The TopBrewer system is unique from its simplicity in appearance, but also from the fact that since it is connected to the web, it can continually receive updates allowing it to do new things.

“The best comparison I’ve heard for TopBrewer was to Tesla, because of the fact software updates can keep improving the system, even transforming it overnight,” said Simonovich. “There will be days when you come to the office, and go for your morning coffee and realize your TopBrewer can do something brand new and exciting.”
